Dazzling.
And to finish up another trio of shoes we have Ronnie’s latest project with Caminando. As usual, Ronnie chooses exceptional materials for his shoes, and my personal favorite of the four boots he produced with Caminando is the black nubuck version. The black is certainly not the standout star of the group, but pulling off animal print is harder than a lot of people would guess. With the black nubuck boots any colored pair of laces will pop off the shoe, and any tonal laces will be complimented by the dark nubuck. They can be worn with any dark colored or tonal pants, and so for function as well as fashion they are my favorite of the group.
While the Docksides are a great looking boat shoe, the Asics Gel Lyte III is what most people know him for. Of all of these, the mint leafs are my personal favorite. There is no color that I have seen used in a tonal way on a shoe to more success, and the subtle grey sole allows the color to pop off the shoe without distraction.
Today I’d like to showcase the work of Ronnie Fieg, a former employee of David Z. in New York who has worked hard for a long time to design shoes whose quality exceeds the normal standard while maintaining both design and a fair price. Having worked most famously with the Asics Gel Lyte III, Ronnie Fieg has branched out into an array of styles. Upon discovering his blog I began to fall for footwear design and fashion more and more, and his ideas are ideas that clicked with me immediately.

Started with the Roots, but it got me thinking about other top albums this year. I’ll post a series! Another Highlight of the year was Oneirology by Cunninlynguists. A concept album like Undun, Oneirology released earlier in the year and was rightfully praised for its exploration of the mind’s exploration in dreams. Enemies with Benefits is an incredible track, but my personal favorite for originality is Hard As They Come, which has every rapper on the track speaking from the perspective of different destructive forces in communities. Natti takes on alcohol, Freddie Gibbs embodies cocaine, and Kno gives voice to HIV/AIDS.
Top 3 in my albums of the year.

Everyone eventually falls for something they shouldn’t. It makes you learn something. Nevertheless, I fall.
First a hiker, then a sneaker, and now a hybrid. Hybrids can go a variety of ways. In cars, they only represent a sad unwillingness to change all the way to something better. In fashion, though, a hybrid can be something special. This hybrid hiker/hightop from Diemme is my personal favorite. Olive and orange is a colorway that been done and redone, but the lovely addition of the clean white sole and white leather on top sets this shoe apart.
When it comes to sneakers, these are my current grails. I’ve made them my grails for many a reason, but I feel that white shoes are especially deserving. Hard to keep clean without doubt and meant to be cared for carefully. Their current price also helps, with the only pair I’ve ever seen in my size going for 200 dollars plus shipping from Hong Kong. I lvoe these shoes because I can’t find a single thing I would change. Stussy went with great leather, snakeskin on the swoosh, and highlighting three eyelets with a lovely blue. The Nike lettering on the backpanel is done in Stussy lettering, and the Stussy logo can be seen on the sole as you walk.
